For Marcus and Moa Fagerlönn from Piteå, Syterbyn is becoming the location for their family's future mountain home. Together with their two children, aged 4 and 8, they have purchased a plot in the area and are looking forward to creating a place for both relaxation and an active life in the mountains.
The family had no previous connection to Hemavan, but they quickly fell for the area and the development currently taking place.
"We feel it's a great investment since Hemavan just keeps on growing. The plans for Syterbyn really offer the opportunity to have both skiing and snowmobiling right outside your door."
A place for relaxation and mountain life
The dream is to have their own mountain home where the family can land, relax, and have nature right on their doorstep.
For Marcus and Moa, convenience is an important part of their future life in Syterbyn.
"That’s what matters most—having everything so accessible. You don't have to pack up all your gear just to get to a ski slope."
Skiing and snowmobiling are two of the things the family is looking forward to most when they start spending more time in Hemavan.

A venture they want to be part of
It wasn't just the nature and the skiing that made the family choose Syterbyn. The plans for the area's continued development also played a major role.
With new lifts, accommodations, restaurants, and a growing town center, Syterbyn is set to become a natural part of Hemavan's continued development.
"When you see the investment being made in hotels, restaurants, and additional lifts, and the fact that you'll be able to travel between all the areas, it felt like the right decision to invest in a plot in Syterbyn."
For the family, buying the plot is therefore both about creating their own place in the mountains and about being there from the start as a new area grows.
“You should definitely go for it”
For anyone else considering buying a plot in Syterbyn, Marcus and Moa's advice is clear:
You should definitely go for it. We believe that once the area is finished, Syterbyn will be very attractive.
